MANILA, Philippines – Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has been nominated for “Best Coach” in the prestigious ESPY Awards.
The ESPY -- or Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly -- award is given by sports channel ESPN.
Spoelstra is up against the coaches of Kentucky basketball, the New York Giants, the Baylor women’s basketball, Alabama softball and the Los Angeles Kings.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat, this year’s NBA champions, are also nominated for best team.
